Tech Superpowers (TSP) is hiring a Director of Business Development and Partnerships to develop key strategic initiatives and partnerships to accelerate TSP’s growth. You will be responsible for the full-cycle sales process as an individual contributor. You will develop relationships with potential customers, negotiate contracts, and close and maintain strategic partnerships with the organizations and people who are well-connected with the Boston startup community. Job Description

Tech Superpowers (TSP) is hiring a Director of Business Development and Partnerships to develop key strategic initiatives and partnerships to accelerate TSP’s growth. You will be responsible for the full-cycle sales process as an individual contributor. You will develop relationships with potential customers, negotiate contracts, and close and maintain strategic partnerships with the organizations and people who are well-connected with the Boston startup community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partner Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive partnership and business development strategy to accelerate growth and expand market reach and brand recognition.
  • Opportunity Identification and Evaluation: Source and evaluate potential partnership opportunities, assessing their strategic fit, market potential, and financial viability. Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and partnership due diligence to make informed decisions and drive deals forward independently.
  • Relationship Management: Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including technology partners, channel partners, and other relevant industry players. Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted relationship manager for partners.
    • Represent Tech Superpowers as a thought leader by engaging in relevant networks and social channels and at industry events/conferences
  • Negotiation and Contracting: Lead negotiation and contracting efforts to establish mutually beneficial technology and channel partnership agreements and contracts. 
  • Collaboration and Cross-functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including product development, marketing, legal, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of partnership initiatives. Foster cross-functional alignment and effective communication throughout the partnership lifecycle.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Develop and implement metrics to track the performance and impact of partnerships. Provide regular analysis to senior management, highlighting key insights, opportunities, and strategies.
  • Strategic Leadership: Keep up-to-date of industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies that are creating high-growth companies. Act as a thought leader and contribute to industry events, conferences, and publications to enhance the company’s reputation and visibility in the market.
  • Account-based Marketing: Implement other methods of targeting and connecting with prospects and centers of influence in the startup ecosystem.
  • Event creation and management: Develop and execute event strategies to enhance Tech Superpowers’ brand visibility and nurture relationships within the Boston startup community. Coordinate all aspects of event planning, from budgeting, venue selection to post-event evaluation, to ensure impactful experiences. Strategize different touchpoints for our target list. Evaluate ROI on an ongoing basis.
  • Attending Ecosystem and Networking events: Actively engage in industry networks and events to represent Tech Superpowers, build relationships, and identify partnership opportunities within the Boston startup ecosystem. Gather market insights and contribute to business development strategies.

Qualifications

  • Seeking a candidate with 7+ years of professional experience with a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships, ideally in SaaS, IT Services, Media, or high-growth software companies.
  • This is a full-cycle sales role.
  • The ideal candidate will be an Entrepreneurial and self-motivated individual who can build a business development strategy from scratch in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
  • Applicants should have a history of forging strong relationships, creating a sense of urgency in partnerships and deal negotiations and a record of negotiating partnership agreements that significantly contribute to the company’s revenue. 
  • Past success negotiating partnership agreements that made a meaningful top-line impact on your company’s outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts related to SaaS, APIs, and technology agreements.
  • Proven ability to scale from partnership idea to execution to scaleable ongoing management.
  • Strong financial business acumen including negotiating skills at top-tier companies.
